Caffeine causes problems with Google Sheets. Is it possible to remove just the Caffeine extension? There’s the option to disable it, but it’s still installed so it still causes problems. I need to completely, 100% remove it and I’m not seeing a way to do that with the extension manager.
If extension is disabled, then it should not be enabled. I assume there is something else that is inteferring with Google Sheets. Try disabling all of extensions and do the test. If it works, then enable extension one by one, until you find the issue.
There is an app called Extension manager pre-installed on your system, try toggling off any extension there and test via that.
I have tried turning it off but it still causes problems. I’m 90% it’s Caffeine that’s the culprit. I’ve tested in Ubuntu, Fedora, EOS, and every time Caffeine in introduced Google Sheets starts acting up. However on those I can actually uninstall Caffeine…and the problem goes away. I really like what the Bazzite team has done and would really like to go back to Bazzite, but I can’t until I can figure out how to remove (completely remove, not just disable) Caffeine.
Have you rebooted your pc after disabling the extension? Try to disable all with toggling the “Use extensions” button and reboot. Does the error persist even then?
Yes it does. That’s not surprising as that’s the same result I got from other distros. Something in Caffeine persists even when disabled that causes Google Sheets to misbehave. Once uninstalled however, all is well.
There is a way to remove extensions from the ostree, although i have not tried it myself. I’ll check and report
Surely there’s a way. I don’t know much about bazzite so I sure didn’t have any luck the 1st go-round. I’ll have to get it back on a disk and keep messing with it 'till it gets figured out.
Got it figured out, well…technically Grok did.
