Graphics Timeout While Recording

Recently, I’ve begun to have issues similar to those experienced in posts like this: ring vcn_enc_0.0 timeout cause by linux-firmware 20241210.b00a7f7e (#3842) · Issues · drm / amd · GitLab.

There was another issue brought up in this topic post, in which the user plays Marvel Rivals and experiences this. I was also playing Rivals and began to experience this last night, with Proton Experimental. Since the game was recently updated, however, many Deck and Linux users overall have experienced problems with the game’s anticheat. I cannot even get the game to launch with Proton-GE builds 19 to 22, and Proton Experimental (which allows the game to launch) is what I’m using when playing and then, later, experiencing this crash. I’ve not yet had it happen in a game such as Insurgency: Sandstorm, which uses EAC in the background and, on my rig, is running with ProtonGE-22.

Specifically the user in the first link notes that his AMD GPU system begins to crash after some time while gaming (though does not note which game he is playing or which Proton version, if any, it’s using) and having OBS or GPUSR (gpu-screen-recorder) running in the background. Many of us do, I’m sure - myself included.

I’m currently using Bazzite, fully update per the system updates. Currently, my linux-firmware shows 20241210-1.fc41. In the aforementioned post, the user describes the following:

Caused by linux-firmware 20241210.b00a7f7e. No such issue on 20241111.b5885ec5

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with an AMD-based system?
