I am trying to update my OS from gamemode for the past month but every time I get a no updates available on my HTPC nvidia build. I have the build for two months now.
I have NEVER been able to update from inside steam mode no matter how many times I checked or how long I left it after pressing the update button. I ALWAYS have to switch to desktop and run topgrade. I have seen many similar posts on reddit about this problem. Is there a solution for this on the horizon?
I’m on bazzite-deck Version since October 24. At first updates worked from gamescope mode like expected. Around about January 25 after some updates it didn’t work anymore, I’m exactly in your situation. Already reported the problem here long ago, seems it’d beeing ignored for some reason.
Yeah the forums seem undermanned when it comes to support and I dont have enough experience with bazzite to help people effectively yet… I hope as we get bigger more devs will join the forums here and help people. Ublue has a bright future ahead of it but support posts going unanswered WILL do damage in the long run
Still the devs try their best and at the same time they also have to contribute code to the project. Its not easy.
This is mainly a community forum. Maintainers sometimes roam here but mostly issues should be reported in Github or for more instant help, join the discord.
Thanks for the answer. I will open an issue in the Bazzite GitHub or contribute to the already open issue with a comment. Many posters here ask for help and never get a reply. I would be happy to help and tell them to try Discord or GitHub for faster support if that is what you recommend, but a popup on post creation would go a long way, too.
