I have been frequently encountering kernel panics when waking my system from sleep. It doesn’t always happen, but it can sometimes happen multiple times a day. I have tried replicating the issue on other distros such as Fedora and CachyOS, but it only happens on Bazzite.
In detail, what will happen is when I wake up my system, instead of waking up normally, it will display a kernel panic. This kernel panic will have broken graphics for the first second or two, and the kernel panic will say “KERNEL PANIC! Please reboot your computer. Fatal exception in interrupt.”
I am not doing anything out of the ordinary with my computer, just gaming and browsing the web with the pre installed firefox flatpak. I am using the Bazzite deck image, but I primarily use my pc in desktop mode. I am using the deck image to have an easier time gaming on my tv.
The only thing abnormal that I have done is placed an empty file named “desktop_autologin” to /etc/bazzite, and enabled the bazzite-autologin service so my system boots into plasma by default. But I know that is not causing any issues as I experienced these kernel panics far before I did that.
System specs:
- Latest bazzite-deck image
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
- AMD Radeon RX 7800XT
- 16GB DDR4
- MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi
Below are logs that I obtained using the ujust get-logs command. If more logs are required, please let me know how I can obtain them as I am relatively new to Linux. Thanks.
