I used BoxBuddy for the first time. I deleted accidentally the created container, so I created it again. In my memory, I chose Fedora 41 the first time. Now I can choose 40 as the latest version. Or am I dreaming?
Also, I thought Bluefin was already using Fedora 41? Doesn’t it upgrade automatically between versions?
Bluefin has a 41 version if you use the stable/stable-daily/latest streams. The default GTS stream is on Fedora -1 so Fedora 40
Currently there are no “Fedora 41” images to select in BoxBuddy. You have probably installed “Fedora 40” before.
It eventually upgrades automatically (you need to reboot Linux to get new image, if for some reason your PC is up for months without rebooting).
Default stream when you download Blufin is GTS stream which is Fedora current version minus one version, that is currently 40. This is also explained in Blufin documentation and you can switch stream from GTS stream (currently Fedora 40) to stable stream (currently Fedora 41) by using ujust rebase-helper
and select “stable”, then wait that new stream is downloaded and then reboot Linux to apply it.
You can check your current stream with sudo bootc status
, for example output "Current staged image >ghcr.io/ublue-os/bluefin:stable
Thank you @red11 . That’s funny, I really must have dreamt it .
I read the documentation, but because all the fuzz about 41, I think got a little impatient :o).
I reboot almost everyday, so I will get there eventually.
I hope I was clear enough. There are two separate things:
- BoxBuddy supporting Fedora 41 (you can’t really do anything until it is available)
- your Blufin supporting Fedora 41 (if you want to get this see my previous post)
Yes, I know these are two different things.
Thanks
