Convinced my friend to use bazzite

I’m using bazzite for over a year at this point. My friend recently built his new computer and didn’t want Windows 11, so I recommended bazzite to him. He’s not so tech-savvy, but the ease of use of this distro made the switch almost painless for him. He says he likes it and for the time being he’s going to stay on the blue side of force.

Also by looking at the newly installed bazzite and compare it to the state of my PC I see few quircks that my machine begin to have, so I have a question. I chose and recommend ublue and bazzite for it’s curated experience. Having an almost 2-year old bazzite install I noticed that updates don’t change/fix certain bugs, e.g. chrome and chrome based browsers don’t work, discover splits install button into flathub or flathub (user) (instead of only one button on new bazzites) or bug that prevents mint webapp manager to create web app with chrome based browsers. AFAIK updates on ublue affect certain directories, so maybe if the problem lies elsewhere it will never get fixed.

Will it be a good idea to create script (maybe turned off by default) to enable automatic updates of all things in the system except for the home directory?

By having a perspective of a long-time user I see all the good changes made to the distro I fell in love with, but I cannot have them on my system without reinstalling
