When I set one or multiple addresses for the DNS nameservers in the network configuration, and apply the settings, these are not considered, and the DHCP server remains as the only DNS nameserver actually being used by the system.
Reboot doesn’t help.
Setting the Method to Auto, Auto (addresses only) or Manual doesn’t help.
As you can see on the screenshot, the green network, which is the one I’m connected to, has the custom DNS server 192.168.1.160. However, checking the resolvectl status, it indicates the system is using 192.168.1.1 (DHCP server) as DNS server. Checking the active connection gives the right wifi SSID.
Additionally, and you may have noticed in the previous screenshot, since I installed the distribution for months, I often get in the situation where the wifi network I’m connected to (green in the screenshot) appears in the “Available” networks, even indicating that the last I used it was for 2 weeks, even though I’m connected to it every day, whereas the others wifi networks (red in the screenshot) appear like I’m connected to all of them at the same time.
From the taskbar, the green one has the option “Connect”, whereas the others have the option “Disconnect”, even showing up and down speeds.
When clicking on the “connect” option leads to the notification:
Private connection already active on the device: uid 1000 has no permission to perform this operation
Also there’s a mismath between the connected/available networks list in the network configuration and the list in the widget from the taskbar…
Thanks for your support, because I’m a bit lost currently.
