When I upgraded to 42, things went sideways, so I did what I had been needing to do and reinstalled on an encrypted drive.
I’m not sure if it is due to using encryption, or if it is due to composefs, or something else, but /, /var, and /home are no longer in their own btrfs subvolumes.
This breaks my backup script that would snapshot these volumes, rsync them to an external, versioned backup, then remove the snapshots.
I guess I don’t have to back up / and /var, but my / backup (specifically the etc part) has come in handy when recreating my system.
I also like doing snapshots of these folders so they don’t change while I’m backing them up.
Is there a way to put folders into subvolumes?
