I like btop, I don’t have to fuss with it and most perf monitoring is immediately available in the TUI. btop added GPU support recently and the homebrew provided one doesn’t exactly support AMDGPUs, I expound on what I found here: Linux: btop fails to find AMD GPU · Homebrew · Discussion #5793 · GitHub
I’m not sure what’s the right solution here as it seems to be a packaging issue, or another one-off that the btop maintainer would need to handle.
Should the rocm-smi package link /lib64/librocm_smi.so correctly?
rocm-smi is apparently deprecated Installing ROCm SMI — ROCm SMI LIB 7.3.0 Documentation is fedora planning on packaging “amd-smi”?
I can’t run bluefin stable at the moment (on GTS) so I don’t know if the rocm-smi package has changed.
amdsmi is in fedora: amdsmi - Fedora Packages
Though I am unsure of what that means for us, probably worth filing an issue for if it’s important to have on the host.
