[Bluefin-dx] Automatic updates, are not handling Flatpakes?

I was satisfied about the updates being handled automatically.

And today when I run flatpak updgrade there were tons of updates pending…

SO, what’s going on? I had updates pending for 3 weeks, that’s almost same the time when I installed the bluefin (new user). Although, I got system updates even 2 days before(IIRC), and rebooted my system…

Ente Auth, I opened everytime in the previous days, bugged me with notification, update is available. I ignored it thinking their flatapk package is lagging behind, and no flatpak updates available now, if they had, I would have gotten them automatically anyway…(and I was wrong)…

I always ujust update on Monday, then reboot.
That updates the operating system, flatpaks, distroboxes, etc.
As far as I can tell, the automatic updates are for the operating system only.

Atleast previously also flat packs were updated two times a day.

Not sure if this has changed but that how it used to be.

Thanks.
I meant to add a disclaimer that I wasn’t sure.

Distroboxes seem to always update when I ujust update, so I assume they don’t update automatically?

I have read on old forum posts that flatpaks upgrades are handled non interactively too.

ujust update uses topgrade on the backend, which takes care of almost all updates (system, distroboxes, firmware, flatpaks etc) when run.

You maybe right about distroboxes too. I use two of these, which were not updated when I manually ran their respective upgrade commands.

It’s maybe the by design now…

I noticed that flatpaks weren’t updating for me recently on bluefin.

I just figured it’s because I rebased from Silverblue quite awhile ago and something went wrong.

Anyway, I just made my own systemd service and timer to update daily in the background, which I strongly prefer (as opposed to manual updates).

Edit: see the AUR for example service/timers.
