What is with the latest updates "feature"?

What is going on with Aurora and removal of update feature? It seemed as bug, but still it got into stable release and based on this issue (Ujust update is not updating distroboxes and flatpaks · Issue #196 · ublue-os/aurora · GitHub) it is even called feature?

Now there is no easy user friendly way to update Aurora OS and you need either write your own script or just be without updates? How come that much broken and important stuff ends up in stable release?

What was the reason to disable old way via topgrade? I had no issue with it and it was definitely better than no updates. Thanks for any info or clarification, what happened.

ujust update still updates your system, flatpak and homebrew.

Topgrade had issues with the new things implemented so it had to be disabled for the time being.

But all in all updates were not removed and they still work fine even automatically.

The new updater uupd will be implemented once it’s ready.
