If I never reboot the system, what happens to updates? AFAIK, there are no notifications that an update is available or has been downloaded. Nor is there some kind of automatic reboot in that case. Does the system just keep going and we never realize any updates are ready to be applied?
EDIT: Also, this morning, I did a ujust update and it said there were no updates available. That surprised me since I’d just visited the Bazzite github page and noted a new update was available. I did a rpm-ostree status and that showed that the update had already been downloaded (but not applied, since I hadn’t rebooted). So, unless I did that “status” check, I’d never have known the update was there and ready for me to reboot.
I suppose that’s fine to a nerd like me who checks the status of things all the time. But, for Bazzite’s target audience (i.e., just plain old gamers), that’s probably not a good thing.
