Fairly new to linux, I’m trying to setup Sunshine on my Bazzite PC, but I am unable to bring up the SSD where my games are stored. I’m not sure what to include here, so please let me know what I need to add.
Wait, what do you mean by ‘drives’? Sunshine is meant for streaming video/audio and controls. The game runs on the server side machine. It can show you your desktop, but it does not allow you to transfer files, as far as I know.
So, as far as I know, it is not an NAS service. More akin to remote desktop.
If you mean, that you want to manually launch games from an external drive, but it does not show up on stream, you should make sure your main rig sees the drive. If it does, you can make a shortcut from the drive to your desktop. But it is far easier to use Steam library or Geforce Experience library to launch games. You just need to add the drive into library, and restart the app (Steam or Geforce). If you disconnect and re-connect the drive, you will need to restart the app again (So it could load in the games again).
Or you can make your own custom library on Lutris. But, I am not sure how it behaves if the drive is disconnected mid session.
By “drives”, I mean the SSD where I have all of my game files. I know it’s not a file transfer, but if i can’t access the drive where those executables are, then how can I get this set up?
Did you install sunshine as a flatpak? If yes, you propably need to add permissions in Flatseal to the Sunshine app to access the other SSDs
Does Sunshine need permissions for drives in Linux? I always thought it needs those for user folders and system drivers (on Windows), which are given to it by default by installing it as administrator.
