Recently, I updated the steam client through big picture mode. After doing so and rebooting, Steam refuses to start. Whenever I start my device, it gets stuck at the steam “logging in” page unless wifi is turned off, and the steam app on desktop refuses to launch. I’ve made that I’m running the latest Bazzite using the upgrade instructions found in the Bazzite 3.7.0 page.
No. I have access to a gui, I still boot into Steam ui (kinda), It’s just that it displays “logging in” with a loading screen with the steam logo. I can still press “home” on my controller to access the menus for Steam UI, which lets me access desktop. It’s just that I can’t have steam “log in” unless disconnected from wifi
Hi, same problem here, since maybe an hour I am stuck in logging in, and in desktop mode steam doesn’t start.
Sorry I am quite new to Linux. The only thing I can say is that I run the HTPC version.
Small update, while everything looked up to date both in desktop mode and steam os mode, I tried the " ujust update" command and everything is on track now.
Hi, I doubt it was the issue, when I tried to open steam or launch a steam game in desktop mode, nothing happenned at all. No message no UI. Just in game mode this “logging in thing”. Also my other computers are not impacted.
Currently the best workaround is to turn off wifi, restart machine, after machine boots in offline mode, turn wifi back on.
Will not fix the steam desktop issue, just the big picture mode one
