I’ve found that Search Light development has picked up slighlty, but I still consider it very basic since it’s just a decoupled GNOME Search.
For (at least) Bluefind/Aurora DX, I believe it would be great to change for a more powerful Spotlight utility. One of the newcomers is Vicinae.

It’s basically a swiss knife that even supports deeplinks and cli, with one caveat: theming is limited to colors and fonts. For GNOME, it requires an extension to integrate but it can be used as-is.
The only problem is that is distributed as an AppImage and tarball. I don’t know what it would be required to be distributed as Flatpak, but anyway, it seems like a great replacemente for Search Light in terms of flexibility alone.
