I am trying to run the same snap package (Accountable2you) on Bazzite as user Kevindurb and found his forum post. I am a casual user and am way out of my depth trying to follow his solution. Kevin, if you read this would you be willing to post a more “dummy friendly” guide or reach out for direct communication?
Thanks!
you have to build your own custom image following the readme here GitHub - ublue-os/image-template: Build your own custom Universal Blue Image! and add kevin’s solution code to the build.sh file. then follow the instructions here https://snapcraft.io/docs/home-outside-home to reconfigure snap to work on ublue. the guide here Installing Ubuntu’s snap on Fedora Silverblue | by Nelson Aloysio | Medium is another workaround but doesn’t utilize a custom image. you can ask gemini or chatgpt to help you step by step- their native language is code.
Or maybe you can use @kevindurb ‘s image if he wants to share.
Absolutely! My images are all open source at GitHub - kevindurb/bootc: WIP os builds for all my machines based on bootc/ostree
dnf install snapd
systemctl enable snapd.service
/usr/bin/ln -sf /var/lib/snapd/snap /
Like @stevensko said you’ll need to build your own image with the above snippet or just use any of mine! Although I change stuff around all the time on my personal images (change desktop environments etc) so it might be a better idea to make your own
