Problem with FSR and Ghost Drive in Bazzite on Steam Deck

Hello,

I just reinstalled Bazzite (GNOME) because after my last installation I still had the problem that FSR didn’t appear to work in Gaming Mode (Steam Deck Original) and a “ghost drive” was displayed.

So I reinstalled everything fresh: wiped the SSD and performed a complete clean installation. At the first start, everything seemed fine – FSR was at least visible. However, as soon as I perform an update (whether in Gaming Mode or Desktop Mode), FSR disappears.

Initially, I thought I had made a mistake during the installation. But no – I took the attached screenshots to show this: at that time, only Bazzite and a single game were installed to test whether FSR would appear again. It doesn’t.

From my side, there were no errors – I even reinstalled everything again, with the same result: as soon as I perform an update, FSR is permanently gone.

Honestly, I don’t know what to do. Bazzite is broken in this state – at least on the Steam Deck Classic. Since I originally had the same bug under KDE, it’s probably not caused by that.

Further information and my previous conversation about this can be found here: https://universal-blue.discourse.group/t/bazzar-offline-and-gaming-mode-increasingly-broken-since-recent-updates/9585/12

OK, I’m writing a comment here again in the hope that I get an answer! I’ll summarize once more: Multiple re-installations on an original SteamDeck and I ALWAYS have these bugs. For me, it looks like Bazzite is no longer fully compatible with the original SteamDeck, at least not completely. I can’t do anything because the bugs are system-related. Is there anyone who can verify this? If multiple re-installations always lead to the same result, it is probably the system and not the user. Please, would someone, the main developer, take a look at this? Otherwise, I will be forced to switch back to SteamOS.

You should really post the issue on the Bazzite github. This is mainly user-to-user community, so If you want to report bugs, it is better to post them on Github.
