I don’t know about others, but one thing that’s annoyed me about the full disk encryption screen is the little icon for the on-screen keyboard but it does nothing. I always require pulling out a usb keyboard and plugging it into my device (Legion Go) to type it in. This isn’t a huge deal at home, more annoying - but is more frustrating when I’m traveling and require carrying a keyboard in my backpack with me just to play it if I decide to shut it down for security reasons.
Can the onboard KB be enabled at that screen or is this beyond control of Bazzite?
I’m like 95% sure there’s no way to do this and it would be something in GRUB outside of Bazzite’s control.
A “work around” that would involve quite a bit of tinkering outside of Bazzite’s defaults (but might be worth looking into) would be modifying the encryption to use a keyfile or security key. This would let you carry around a USB or SD card to unlock the device rather than needing a keyboard.
PostmarketOS uses unl0kr. It is an onscreen keyboard for unlocking at boot. Not sure if this in Fedora or even a copr though.
