No Surround - Nvidia HTPC Beta on 4070 ti super with LGC2 and LG S70TR Atmos soundbar

Hey guys, any advice on getting 5.1 surround working with my setup? When I select 5.1 in audio settings on the desktop and then try testing the speakers the only thing that works are front left and front right. Thanks!!

HDMI from PC to TV and Soundbar is HDMI to eArc input on the TV.

Someone on reddit (posted there before I saw there was a forum) said to check alsamixer, but I have no idea what I’m looking at here.

I also found this, but unfortunately there are no updates or solutions: Trying to get 5.1 surround sound working with Fedora Silverblue - Fedora Discussion

Does that mean I’m just SOL when it comes to Surround on Linux/Bazzite?

I just found this post, which seems to have a possible solution - but I have no idea how to go about doing what it suggests. Any chance someone can help me out with that? Reddit - Dive into anything

Just apply these changes from a 5 months old commit on the pipewire repo. Fedora’s maintainers need to update pipewire asap to include these changes.

I have that exact same problem. It’s LG TVs causing this problem, the proposed fix is adding AC3 encoding through ALSA in Pipewire conf if I understand the diff correctly. That could solve the problem as AC3 is working fine through my LG G1. Is there any way to notify an admin here ?

N.B.: I’m using the nVidia image if that matter.
