No login or config prompt after fresh install as VM?

Howdy.

Saw some reviews of Bluefin and though I would give it a try as a Proxmox VM. I’ve done installs with the AMD and Intel video drivers and in both cases I just get a blank/gray screen after first boot but without any sort of login prompt or prompt to do further setup.

I don’t recall ever specifying a non-root user during the install. I assume I’m supposed to be prompted for further config at first boot.

Am I missing something or have I hit a bug?

Hey,

You might be in similar situation like here - Blufin unbootable with Jan-26 and Jan-29, but boots fine with Jan-19 - #6 by CyberOto

Thank you for the tip.

In my case it was actually a confluence of two factors:

  1. default of 16MB of VRAM.
  2. default configuration of my VM templates assumes presence of SPICE on the VM.

All good now. Thx again.

Quick update - after using today’s latest 41:20250210 I can use VBox VMSVGA display driver again.

Maybe it is fixed for you too.
