Hi, im new to Linux and bazzite. i just migrated 5 days ago from windows and im loving it so far. ofc there is some games i want to play that kernal and anti cheat is fucking us on. But i figured that if i could run them trough nvidia now its good enough. the problem i have with nvidia now in bazzite is that ingame in any game i can only rotate my characters 520 degrees in Apex it was worse sometimes i could only rotate left end sometimes it let me rotate right but than stopped. i tested in Subnautica (a game i ofc can run in linux, but just for test.) and it seemed that if i stood still rotating to the left until it stopped and than right i got a full 360 and a 180 so a 520 max and 520 back. i connected my xbox controller and than i was ok, no problem what so ever. I did a little reading and i dont know it it is the mouse settings or something else that does it. someplace they was mentioning “direct mouse input” but it seemed to be related to nvidia overlay. i have a AMD RX 9070XT and am using bazzite so i gues that was a windows problem or another disto of linux. I have installed Nvidia now Electron via Bazaar. i have tried nevidia now trough firefox also but that seemed to have much more problems. Ofc i can just run Nvidia now on my mac but i want it to work here! Can anyone help me , is this a known issue?
So to clarify, you have installed bazzite but cannot play some games on linux due to anticheat or similar issues. So you are trying to use the Nvidia Now cloud gaming service through the electron app, and are encountering issues with rotating your character through your mouse. Though an xbox controller you tested seems to be working fine. Sorry if I misunderstood something.
This issue seems to be a known issue in Geforce electron app. As in it is a bug on their end.
One potential fix is to force the app to run through xwayland.
To do this open the flatseal app, then navigate to the nvidia now app.
Then uncheck the setting that says wayland windowing system.
Then close the nvidia app if it open and try again
That didnt work. It resulted in that the app just didnt start at all. i did follow the tread and tried a fiew other sugestions but nothing seemed to work and somethings they talked about i have no idea how to do.
Someone in the thread mentioned trying it on Brave and it worked there. So I imagine an up-to-date chromium-based browser might fix this issue. (Like chrome, vivaldi, etc)
Additionally, there is another app that seems to also let people use nvidia now through linux. In this case, the developers have also marked the flatpak as an officially supported platform. Trying that might also be worth a shot
