Make Bazzite to recognize micro SD card each time I use my handheld device

I have Bazzite OS running on my ASUS Rog Ally, I’ve been using it for two weeks now, I love it!

I decided to buy a micro SD card (ScanDisk 1TB) and put it into it my device. I saw that immediately the card was recognized, the right bottom corner of the screen had the card icon I believe or an external device icon (Using desktop mode)

I didn’t do anything after that only I decided to update Bazzite OS as usual, I opened the terminal and I ran ujust update, I restarted it. After that, I was on Gaming Mode, I saw the sd card icon at the top right of the screen, I tried to formatted it but I got an error, to trying it later or restart the device again.

I switched to desktop mode, and I don’t see the sd card.
I ran lsblk command and I saw the sd card:

NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE TYPE MOUNTPOINTS
mmcblk0 179:0 0 953.6G disk // empty here

I think I can mount the disk manually using the terminal but, is this going to be all the time? Can’t just Bazzite recognize the sd card each time I am either using Gaming Mode or Desktop mode?

You may have to format the card. The easiest way I’d say to do that would be to go into Big Picture Mode or whatever they’re calling it now, then go to Storage and format the card.

Thank you for your reply.

I think the problem is more serious than I thought, for some strange reason, the SD card doesn’t work either in Gaming Mode or Desktop Mode, I can’t format it using Bazzite OS.

I said that Bazzite wasn’t recognizing the sd card, now, it recognize it BECAUSE, I turned on the option on Device Auto-Mount
"Automatically mount removable media that have never been mounted before"

With that, each time, the sd card device is present in both modes, but it doesn’t work. I tried formatting it on gaming mode, it didn’t work.

I switched to desktop mode, I right clicked the sd card and opened it with KDE Partition Manager, I entered my sudo password and I got the error:

Unrecognized device mmcblk0p

I can’t even copy/paste files in it! If I take out the sd card to my laptop, which uses Linux Mint, it recognize it and I can store things in there. It works on my laptop…

I formatted as the following formats (one at the time testing if it works or not) NFTS, ext4, but they didn’t work after putting it back on Bazzite OS.

When I tried to format it on Gaming Mode (The steam interface) it fails, and if I check the format of the micro sd card, it says “exFat32” or something… I can’t recall, why does it have that format after trying to format it?

The only thing left for me is to test the sd card with “Fight Flash Fraud” and see if it has something that needs to be fix or something…

I don’t understand why Bazzite OS can just work as Linux Mint or any other Linux distro out there, I mean, I am not trying to do anything fancy here, is just connecting a simple storage card into the device and use it, that’s it.
