Hi. How is Bazzite doing with driver / Mesa updates? Namely, when can we expect support for the new Radeon cards? I love Bazzite and would love to continue using it with my 9070 XT. :slight_smile:

I installed Powercolor 9070 XT Hellhound. But after that I cant start games in Heroic or in Steam. I guess (hope) it is older driver problem since I tried it in Garuda, Opensuse Tumbleweed, CachyOS and Nobara also. Same here. So far, Nobara seems to be the only OS that has Mesa 25 and support for the 9070 XT. I don’t mind Nobara at all, but Bazzite seems a tad more user-friendly to me, with a lot more options included (Wine, Discover, etc.) so I’d like to stay if possible. I hope we get an update soon.

I’ve not had a chance to rebase and test properly yet, but Mesa 25 is in the Testing branch now.

So you have to rebase to testing?

For now, yes. Things are definitely better with Mesa 25. Gaming Mode starts up properly and I’m getting broadly the performance I’d expect from a 9070XT. I’ve had a few crashes, but these are still fairly immature drivers, so kind of to be expected I think.

Linux-firmware 20250311 got an official release yesterday, hoping that will work its way into Bazzite/Fedora soonish. (hopefully before Fedora42)
