GPU utilization always at 100% (AMD)

I’m running on bluefin-dx (installed with ublue iso) and when I open mission center the GPU 0 usage is constantly at 100%, no drops. Even after a fresh boot. Temperature is around 50°C and memory usage around 900 MiB.
The gpu is AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics.

Strangely, all apps & processes have 0% or very low GPU usage when listed with mission center.

In rare cases the cursor or gnome shell stutters a bit, but apart from that I don’t notice any performance issues.

Not sure if this is related to ublue per se. But since ublue tries to have everything configured perfectly out of the box I thought I might as well share here.

Just chiming in that I’m seeing the same thing with a new Bluefin install. Radeon Vega 3 GPU.

I have Aurora (KDE Plasma 6) on my laptop with an AMD Radeon RX Vega 7 iGPU, and I’m seeing regular usage (1% right now). Could be a GNOME thing.

This thread is more than 1 year old, so perhaps at this point it would be better to create a new one to start afresh. You could also try to run nvtop from the terminal and see if there’s any noticeable GPU hogs.

FWIW I’m running GNOME on a custom image and all is well, sitting at 1~5% total GPU usage right now doing light tasks.
