I am using Bazzite 44 on a Framework Desktop (AMD Ryzen AI MAX 395+). With Version 44.20260914 it finally adds the new TDP-Control. However, by default, it always sets the TDP profile to “Performance”, resulting in a TDP, that is a little bit higher than what Framework suggests.
Framework advises to use:
- 120W sustained
- 140W slow limit
- 160W fast limit
Tho, ryzenadj reads these values (freshly booted bazzite):
- 130W sustained
- 154W slow limit
- 176W fast limit
The TDP-slider is at maximum, showing 130W (reflecting sustained power). Manually selecting 120W also lowers slow and fast limit to 140/160W, as Framework advertises. Currently, it resets back to “performance” tho (with 130W max TDP) once the system is restarted. Also, it negates any change that I make during a session - e.g. selecting my prefered profile “balanced” (which reflects the correct TDP values for sustained, short/fast limit).
Also, the energy governor usually was set to “performance” when you also selected “performance” as energy profile. Now it stays at “powersafe” (which was only set when you selected “balanced” as energy profile, before this update) either way.
Can be checked with:

Is this “working” as intended or currently a bug? Also - guess that is just a “cosmetical thing” right now, the desktop built-in power management (in systray) moans about PPD not being present anymore, disabling its own power profile settings. Guess that all has been replaced (PPD seems masked/missing now) by the new TDP Control and is not reflected in all OS menus, yet?
