Dragging downloads from Firefox into Dolphin?

I don’t know if this is a Flatpak issue but I thought I was using the Flatpak version of FF before and it working fine on regular distros, or maybe it’s Wayland related? The expected behavior I used quite a lot was to simply drag a finished download from the little download popup into Dolphin to move the file into a different folder. This was quick & convenient and also how you’d expect it to work on other operating systems.

Here though, I just simply cannot even drag the download at all, it’s not attaching to the cursor. I have to manually go into my download folder within Dolphin, then find the file and manually cut & paste it into the new location. This is really stretching my original workflow.

That sounds like a Wayland issue but might be specific to Dolphin/KDE implementations.

Trying it on Nautilus/GNOME seems to work for me

I remember trying the Gnome version of some distro before I went to Bazzite, because I had not checked out Gnome since long before Unity and I wanted to give it at least a chance, despite my dislike for it. But I remember it having the same issue (along a lot of other ones but that’s another topic). Like, I cannot even click & hold the download onto the mouse to even attempt to drag it into another application. It’s completely static.

I did use X11 on my previous distro though, since I kept having issues with Wayland whenever I tried. So I guess it could still be Wayland or bridge specific.

Probably. Wayland drag and drop was really poor until late March last year (Wayland Protocol 1.34). It’s improved and I’ve personally not had any issues but it’s not perfect.

It could also be something with the flatpak permissions but I kinda doubt it because I have default permissions with no issues
