Distrobox being re-written in GO

This was posted recently about Distrobox being rewritten in Go. Since Distrobox is pretty critical for Universal Blue, I thought I’d post it here in case anybody wanted to watch.

That’s funny. Distrobox was a fork of Toolbox. Toolbox decided that using shell was a poor choice, so they switched to Go years ago while Distrobox continued to use POSIX shell for years.

And now Distrobox decided to switch to Go too. Though it seems likes it’s from scratch rather than a fork.

Podman and Docker Compose are also written in Go. Two great tools I use on Ublue desktops and MacBook for work.
