Since Fedora already has an atomic Cosmic spin, is it planned to make a Bazzite version with Cosmic DE? Sorry if this has been asked before. The only thing I found was an Aurora maintainer saying it will not be done for Aurora and I believe I saw someone say that it will be done for Bazzite only. I…

There are currently no plans to create a specific image for Cosmic. There are some “3rd party” images based on ublue. One of the, which seems to be pretty well maintained is Origami Linux https://origami.wf/

Remember that “spins” are not official fedora supported. They are community supported using Fedora infrastructure. There are only TWO officially supported desktop environments. Gnome and KDE.

Thanks! Appreciate all the info. Totally understandable as I’m sure it’s a lot of work to maintain another DE. I think I heard it was automated so I wasn’t sure. But I tried Cosmic Atomic with Steam Flatpak and it has it’s own issues. So I wouldn’t recommend Cosmic just yet anyway. I will try Auror…

You sound like you might have a hardware problem, maybe bad RAM. I had similar freezes and crashes a few years ago, and replacing one of my RAM sticks fixed them.

Thanks for the suggestion, valid point, but the only time I saw this was when on Bazzite. Aurora with Steam Flatpak is actually working great. I am thinking that my system does not like the kernel mods done to Bazzite. And no issues with KDE either. In fact it’s fantastic after a bunch of customiza…

The same thing happened to me, my system worked fine with some distros and/or DEs, but I had problems with others, coincidentally those that took full advantage of the PC resources like RAM or disks.

I think you’re out of luck on that. Probably they don’t have the resources to maintain three different variants.
