Checksum of torrent ISO does not match

Hello. I noticed that the checksum of the Bazzite torrent ISO is different from the ISO downloaded directly:

Torrent ISO checksum:
910d275a13987d6385fe50327cf0b20af6301ca9300077c095e9c27055f4d284

Direct download ISO checksum:
7f205648b558a3cb024346ff36e87105ce272f8258c7842913c1b1dea9e82f05

I’m pretty sure that the checksum should be the same, regardless if the ISO is downloaded directly or as a torrent.

Which ISO is it? Bazzite KDE?

I’ve tested this on the AMD + GNOME ISOs:

Direct DL: 9e68412512f30a3a0c720ee3be52c91c288fbad9

Did you try downloading again? Could just be a bad download.

Yes, this was Bazzite KDE download. More specifically, the one with Nvidia (GTX 9xx-10xx Series).

I’ve downloaded the ISO you mentioned just to see:
Direct DL: 79cbc69e95712b11dc80ca675fce04c09281fcf0

So it does seem like a download issue. :smiley:

I just tried downloading the ISO again, using the torrent and direct download, and the checksums are the same.

It seems that the Bazzite image was recently updated, so perhaps the torrent file was updated itself, as there seems to be much less seeders than last time.

I doubt that the download was somehow corrupted on my part when I reported this issue, as torrent downloads get checked for any errors by the client.
