Guys, I’m happy you enjoy ublue.
Kindly read the following and consider:
I’ve been running Aurora for about a month and love it so far. I generally keep Plasma pretty stock without much tweaking.
Congrats and thank you for all the work that has been put into this project! The passion really shows.
I grew up personally and professionally in the Wintel world. Every couple years I’d make an earnest attempt to give Windows the boot, but I always came crawling back after inadvertently destroying whatever distro I’d loaded on to my primary rig. Between the Universal Blue project and Valve’s efforts with Proton, I think this is finally the year of Linux for me.
Had to go with that McLaren orange bezel on my FW13 too
Bluefin on the Framework (best integration with the FW13 of any OS including Windows)
Bazzite on the desktop
A little late to the party and in the middle of setting up a workspace, but wanted to share a screenshot of what I have set up on my Thinkpad (viewing through an external monitor):
-
Background: the green swamp wallpaper
-
Gnome Extensions: Animated Dash2Dock and Forge
-
Left: LibreFox with Tabliss extension using the Roaring Chicken image from Bluefin.io and Quicklinks/Time widgets
-
Upper Right: Ptyxis with neofetch
-
Lower Right: Obsidian markdown application with Bluefin wallpaper (through the Beautitab plugin) and Adwaita-GTK Theme
my appreciation for all the hard work on universal blue by everyone, really happy with this experience
– Stephen
This looks so good, love it!
I’m late to the party. Framework Laptop 13 AMD Ryzen 7040 Series and Framework Laptop 16. Project Bluefin and Bazzite reporting in.
I am late to the party as i have been on vacation but happy birthday ublue!
i will be boring and use my setup picture from a former bazzite buzz
from top left to right
Monitors:
- bazzite-nvidia test vm (gpu is passed through from the host for testing and the image is streamed to the host using moonlight
- bazzite-deck tailored for my threadripper system (my custom deckstation image)
- bazzite-deck running on my HTPC and streamed to my vertical monitor using moonlight for the picture (because it has a polaris card it was stuck on fedora 39 at the time of the picture)
Devices:
- My travel laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad x250) running bazzite desktop
- Lenovo Legion GO running bazzite-deck
- SteamDeck running SteamOS for scale
Controllers (top to bottom, left to right):
- 8bitdo Ultimate BT
- Steam Controller (brand new)
- Custom built DualSense5 (showpiece mostly) with back paddles
- Gulikit KingKong 2 Pro
- Xbox One S
- PowerA MOGA (dont buy this thing, it feels cheap, although has an ok dpad but has the cheapest feeling triggers you can find, how they managed that idk)
- Steam Controller with “joystick adapter”, heavily used with and without adapter
- Corsair Scimitar RGB (for some reason it shows up in linux as a controller so i am including it here!)
Penguins:
- The little one is hand made and was sent to me 2 years ago as a secret santa gift from Germany, it received a sunglasses dlc last year, i was not told the secret santa gift came with a season pass
- The big one is from Netherland and was also sent to me as a secret santa gift 3 years ago, it is wearing my goto sunglasses which i have used for the past 18 years.
Fantastic post very informative…!
Wow, 3 years already?!
Would post a pic of my desk, but tbh it’s a downright mess and totally not photogenic at all lol
Keep up the amazing work!
