Can't get new proton versions with either protonupQT or protonplus

Title.
When I try to install any versions of proton with proton up QT just nothing happens. Launching it from the terminal gives me:

I tried changing my DNS on my router, reinstalling both of them, restarting everything, nothing did anything. I wanted to try downloading the appimage version of proton upQT, but when I click on the donwload on it’s github page it just fails to load in with an error saying that there might be a typo in the url.
Finally after I almost gave up I wanted to try using a VPN, but after I launched the flatpak version of protonVPN it just failed to connect to anything and just disables my own internet.

I’m completely out of ideas, please help.

Just tried GE-Proton 10-26 and it worked with no issues as always.

As customary, do you have anything layered? That’s always the first culprit I’m suspicious of. You can never know what layering might mess with. Try to share the results of rpm-ostree status

Also, did you modify any config files or anything?

I did not modify anything. My system is as stock as possible, that’s the reason I chose bazzite. I run the system update every bootup(almost every day)
I only have flatpaks installed and whatever came with bazzite(like lutris) My only “modifications” are getting the plugin for plasma that lets me use gifs as wallpapers, the candy icon pack and a hatsune miku themed mouse pointer. Once I tried installing waydroid but I messed it up somehow and just got rid of it, similarly once I installed davinci resolve but it crashed constantly so I just never opened it again.
Whenever I try to install either GE 10-28 or the latest cahcy proton all that shit happens. Also I just don’t know why my vpn can’t connect anymore.

here’s my rpm-ostree status:

Do you live in a country that blocks large parts of the Internet?

You should be able to resolve and access release-assets.githubusercontent.com in a browser. It will give you a 404 Not Found page, but it should resolve and load.

I do not, I’m in hungary, I don’t think anything should be blocked like that.

and https://release-assets.githubusercontent.com/

gives me a

Hmmm… can’t reach this page

Check if there is a typo in release-assets.githubusercontent.com.

forever.

after dig release-assets.githubusercontent.com I got:

; <<>> DiG 9.18.43 <<>> release-assets.githubusercontent.com

And curl release-assets.githubusercontent.com gave me:

curl: (6) Could not resolve host: release-assets.githubusercontent.com

Nothing changed basically.

From the dig output ;

;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
release-assets.githubusercontent.com. 3251 IN SOA cleanbrowsing.rpz.noc.org. accesspolicy.rpz.noc.org. 1 7200 900 1209600 86400

So whatever DNS you’re using seems to be using CleanBrowsing content filtering.

Change the DNS on your machine (not router) to 8.8.8.8 and try again?

But that’s the funny part, My router uses DNS 8.8.8.8 and 9.9.9.9

But I did go to my network config, and on both my cable and wifi, I set IPV4 to automatic(address only) and write 8.8.8.8 to DNS and still the same

What is the dig output now that you have changed your DNS? (Disconnect the connection and reconnect again first, else it may not have applied.)

$ dig release-assets.githubusercontent.com

after a disconnect it’s

alright, now it seems to work, I was able to download the appimage, and I was able to download both GE and cachy proton with the flatpak version of proton up QT.

Thanks a lot for the help!
