Bluearchy! Looking for collaborators on a new UBlue-based Hyprland image

Hey everyone,

I’m experimenting with a new Universal Blue image called Bluearchy.
It’s loosely inspired by Omarchy, but the goal is not to clone it, rather to explore a similar vibe while taking some different routes. For example, I’m planning to use Vicinae as the primary launcher instead of the one included in Omarchy.

Right now nothing is set in stone. The project is still very early, and I’m trying to figure out what the “right” direction even is. That’s why I’m hoping to find a few people interested in helping shape it from the start — no matter whether that’s:

  • testing early builds

  • giving critical feedback

  • contributing ideas for defaults and UX

  • working on Hyprland configuration or theming

  • or just discussing what a fork like this should be

If this sparks your interest, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts. Even small bits of input help steer the project while it’s still flexible.

Thanks!

Check out Wayblue: GitHub - wayblueorg/wayblue: Fedora Atomic images for wayland compositors

There is a hyprland image there as well.

Yeah i found a lot of inspiration from there. But with regards to config its more or less plain defaults.

I hope this is not too much of a thread resurrection. But have a fairly workable script that I got working in secureblue and Fedora Sway Atomic. I suggest trying it in a vm first. I think it could be used by any Fedora Atomic or Universal Blue as a starting point. I switched back to Fedora Atomic from secureblue because I was spending so much time opening things up it was nearly not secureblue any more. There are screenshots in the git repo.
