BIOS does not update

I’ve installed Aurora on my new Lenovo Laptop and I intend to drive this daily. Just now, I found that a more recent BIOS version is available (1.18 –> 1.21), sudo fwupdmgr refresh --force shows ‘19 devices are updatable’ and ‘2 devices are supported in the enabled remotes (an update has been published)’.

However: sudo fwupdmgr get-updates followed by: sudo fwupdmgr update did not update my BIOS.

Is this a bootc limitation? Should I boot from a live CD to perform a BIOS update?

Nothing to do with us.

Does your BIOS actually have updates through LVFS?

I think so.. I’ve had several Lenovo Thinkpads update without problems in the past. My current laptop is offered by the vendor with choice of OS, Linux or Windows..

I will look into it deeper, thanks!

fwupdmgr should show you the 2 devices that have had updates, the 2 devices are supported in the enabled remotes (an update has been published)’ part

Couldn’t get fwupdmgr to update the bios, had to resort to iso download from Lenovo and boot from it..
