Yesterday I installed Bazzite for the very first time, on a venerable old gaming PC, and it looks like I have locked myself out of the pre-existing Windows 10 on that machine. Bazzite occupies all of /dev/sda (a fresh full-disk install), Windows slumbers on /dev/sdb. Both sda and sdb each have an EFI partition (vfat). I can boot into Bazzite just fine, but not into Windows any longer. Even if I select the sdb disk in my BIOS boot options, booting occurs from sda instead.
I have enabled os-prober via /etc/default/grub and run ujust regenerate-grub, alas to no effect. Running os-prober manually returns an empty result, which matches what I see in /boot/grub2/grub.cfg – no Windows menuentry to be seen there either.
It certainly does not help that the BIOS is more than 13 years old, and support has long since ended. If you have any ideas how I can set up dual-boot for Bazzite and Windows, I’d appreciate your input. Thank you.

Firstly, are you using 2 drives, that you did a full disk install? If not, you just rewrote your windows drive for Bazzite. There was an option for: ‘Share disk with other operating systems’. And in that case, the sdb is a non-working line. Same happened to me when I tried SteamOS, the fedora loader remained listed.
Did you run regenerate-grub as sudo?
Also, if you have your secure boot enabled on windows, leave it enabled. Otherwise it will not boot up Windows. If not, leave it off.
I have regenerated grub.cfg both using ujust and manually. The problem appears to be that the pre-existing Windows installation on the second physical disk device (sdb) is never detected by osprober. Perhaps the EFI data itself was screwed up during the installation process? That’s just a guess, though.
You can be an expert Windows user and may know what “sudo” is but your not gonna know what “regenerate-grub” is. My Dream gaming PC with new Radeon 9060xt is now an RGB Brick
@dazecutr Sorry to hear of your experience. I have used Linux since the 1990s, but that does not imply knowledge about the specifics of Bazzite’s installation process. It seems to have behaved rather differently from what I expected, and thoroughly screwed with what was already present.
Getting dual boot to work with other Linux distributions was not troublesome for me in the past.
