Hello, I recently found out (after changing cable and PSU) that my EGPU was crashing under heavy usage due to memory and gpu speed limits. Try to setting them as I explained in the last post.
Hi could you please explain how to install the new bios?
I dont want to mess something up, do i still need to install via the .bat file? Even though iam using linux.
Thanks again for the great work on bazzite and the geek 1s .
Nope.
The instructions are meant for windows.
There are Linux instructions on steamfork’s wiki but I did not test them. I actually have an SD card with windows 11 so I used that SD card to update it.
Oh very good to know, thanks for the info. I will try to do the steamfork variant when i get to it.
Yeah. I love to finally be able to suspend the device, surprisingly it works with eGPU connected too!
Anyway when you (or others)update the bios please report if your controller is sometimes not waking up from sleep too.
Sure i will report it. The controller not waking up was already a problem for me with the other method, but i will test it also with the new bios.
Ops. I was not aware of this. I stopped using sleep mode because my bios kept resetting with umaf method.
I now updated the handle controller firmware, I will report as well.
Did you manage to get some useful log?
I dont have a log but i found this on the chimera discord.
Quoted from a discord user.
Can confirm that “ayaneo-platform” does not need to be added to /etc/device-quirks/systemd-suspend-mods.conf. Just adding “usb-hid” is sufficient to make the controller work properly after resume.
But havent tried it.
Please set hdd to dual sense controller, disable Bluetooth mode and report if the resume is more consistent for the controller. Also change USB bios support to “full support”.
In any case please go to Ayaneo discord and ask for the EC update from Ayaneo. Geek 1s is the only device that did not have the update. This is something that’s supposed to improve battery and heat dissipation, also battery bypass.
A quick update:
- The latest version of all-ways-egpu fixed Method 1, so if you use method 1 now the connection to the egpu is way more stable and display disconnects are less frequents. You need to set the policy to be able to use it without password at boot. You can install my rpm (on bazzite) or follow the wiki.
- Ayaneo is yet to pronounce about the bios situation.
