Soooo many people looking for help could be helped by LLMs. It’s the new, did you search google? There aren’t enough people to help users and it would help the community grow.
I don’t think this will make the community bigger. Everyone should know that she/he should first ask the net or perplexity or any other llm before posting something here. In addition, I think I have read that the forum should no longer be used for questions, but github.
uBlue is not for linux users who know to use LLMs or what tab in GitHub to ask a question. It’s for users who know zilch, nada. Every spin has a link in their applications to this forum. this is a place they’re going to ask questions if by some miracle of dogged persistence they get even this far. If they’re here it means they really like u blue and want to use it but they have a hiccup and if it’s not burped out of them they’re not going to stick with u blue and it loses another user. They need to know they can ask an AI to help them.
This is mainly for user facing forum, its not really an official support forum but more of a community forum. Yes you can get support here from the community but I guess you meant that there would be something automatic that would point users to chatgpt etc.
I would discourage the use of “AI” altogether, and recommend search engines that are not infested with “AI”. This forum also has a search box that people could use to see if their question has been answered. If those fail and they can’t find the answer, I personally would not mind answering their question here or on GitHub rather than telling them to use “AI”.
Bluefin is working on a bot trained on its documentation though it still a work in progress (and in an environment where a human can step in if it tells anybody to delete their system): ublue-os/bluefin Dosu Help Section · Discussions · GitHub
In general, while atomic systems are more resilient against malicious instructions they are not immune. Encouraging users to ask random LLMs of unknown quality to then follow instructions they may not fully understand is careless.
I have tried some in the past and they keep telling me to layer packages rather than use a distrobox, flatpak, or search for an alternative.
