I’m on Bazzite 44.20261023 (KDE Desktop) and checking the version of Python gives me:

`python -V `
`Python 3.14.8`

How do I update Python to a version that’s not vulnerable to eMudhra? According to:

> **[Information for Python users regarding eMudhra / emSign CA certificate...](https://discuss.python.org/t/information-for-python-users-regarding-emudhra-emsign-ca-certificate-security-incident/109576)**

I need to upgrade to at least Python version 3.14.10. But, I can’t figure out how.

I don’t remember installing Python. But, my cursory look through Bazzite’s github page doesn’t show a Python version. Does Bazzite include Python?

You dont update packages, those come with image updates.

`rpm -qa | grep python` should show your systems python packages

I used your command and it listed a whole lot of python stuff. Since it’s so long, I won’t show it here. But, I’m not sure what you mean by “image updates.” Since that’s an rpm command, I’m guessing you mean those get updated via a system (i.e., Bazzite, in my case) update.

If that’s correct, should I open a Github issue to specifically update Python to either 3.15.2 or 3.14.10? Or, do those get updated with upstream Fedora releases and are transparent to us?

Yes it comes with the bazzite image. And these packages mostly come from Fedora, we cannot make it come any sooner.
