rpm-ostree reset worked correctly, but remaining problems are:
Regarding NVIDIA deck mode, you cannot enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views and the hardware video decoding also needs to be disabled still under steam settings under Steam’s Interface page as it causes the text to become garbled unreadable text and able on my 3D RTX 3070 Gigabyte master brand 3D card. I had to disable the settings to fix the issue, making the readable again. Something about these two settings does not seem to correctly for my desktop PC under steam settings in its app. Additionally, adaptive sync still needs to be set to ‘never.’ as full screen apps go black on plasma kde desktop if its set to automatic. adaptive sync is not a problem in steam nvidia deck itself, only under the desktop plasma is it a problem that I noticed, full screen apps like emudeck work correctly under steam deck mode, just not right if its under the plasma desktop instead if that better explains it.
I asked BIng search to define garbled, it sounds like the visual problem when enabling GPU accelerated rending in web views includes hardware video decoding which doesn’t seem to work correctly when on, effects steam deck gaming mode text gets really messed up when turned on under this Linux distro. I would describe the text as distorted when its enabled, graphics and images of games look normal it’s only the text that seems to go wrong when it’s on. at most times, in any case, I didn’t notice any more problems but there may be when its enabled.
At some point, it appears that Microsoft Edge was installed using Flatpak. I ran the Flatpak list command, and Microsoft Edge appeared in the list, which explains why it was not with the rpm-ostree reset. The strange thing is that I do not recall installing it with Flatpak, but it seems that’s how it ended up in the internet menu twice. The rpm-ostree reset must have removed the rpm version of it.
AFter you run rpm-ostree reset you have to reboot to get to the new image which has the layered packages removed.
It looks like you are currently already on a image that has those layered packages removed. But the rollback image is the one that still has those packages. And that is normal and how this stuff works. You will always have a rollback image, the previous one in the status list.
