Kernel Tained

Hi there,
I’ve already installed my fresh aurora linux and in the info center of kde plasma, firmware security section, it display to me that my kernel is tained…
I’m on full amd hw and I haven’t saw this warning ever on others distro… anyone can explain to me if something went wrong?

PS: sry for my bad eng im not a native english speaker

Kernel Tainted gets indicated if you are using any out of tree kernel modules.

We use several even on full AMD machines.

On Aurora they are installed here:

These kmods for whatever reason are not suitable for upstreaming. However they provide hardware enablement that we want.

If you want a system that doesn’t have a tainted kernel, you will have to build your own image (our base images do not include akmods that will taint the kernel)
