# EA app in Lutris breaks with every update

After every update to the EA app I get the error that the update failed to destage. The only way I have been able to fix it is uninstalling and reinstalling both the EA app and the games installed inside that launcher.  
This is very time consuming and cumbersome because the games lose my custom settings. I have tried making a backup of the game folders and putting them back after reinstalling the EA app, but it refuses to recognize the games as being present on the system.  
I’d add the logs, but I don’t see an option to attach text files.

Also, I have to manually set the new folder as source for the EALauncher in Lutris that is created after an update of the app. It looks something like this: ea-app/drive\_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop/13.783.0.6296-1788593149

The part with the numbers changes after every update. I don’t know what they are smoking at EA.

After that, the app still crashes silently, so I have to run an exe file inside the prefix. The file is at ea-app/drive\_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop/13.783.0.6296-1788593149/Destager - it’s called “EADestager.exe”. After that the app works again for me. Best of luck.
