Can't create transaction lock

Hi,

I’m trying to install cabextract, so I can install ms fonts on Aurora. I’ve run the install command as a normal user and as root and received the same error (error: can’t create transaction lock on /usr/share/rpm/.rpm.lock (Read-only file system)) on both occasions. I searched for processes that might be causing the lock without luck. Any suggestions?

/usr is not writable, so you are propably trying to run some kind of scripts to install those. That won’t work

these might work MS Core Fonts on Silverblue - #8 by axels - Fedora Discussion

You should use brew: brew install cabextract

Many Thanks, will give it a go.
