Bazzite Use without Cloud Services

My network configuration is for max privacy and security. Because of this I do not use any cloud services and especially anything google. Everything is saved locally.

I am concerned that there are resources in Bazzite that could compromise my network and workflow.

I have read that enabling Cloud services could pose a problem and that the USER makes the decision not the OS.

With steam I disable cloud services and I backup locally and to external storage not connected to the internet.

I am a user of Pixel devices that use a custom rom.

I would like to know what I need to do to secure Bazzite OS from telemetry going outside of my network.

Thank you

There are various ways to turn off telemetry for things like Fedora package reporting, Brew, Steam, etc. Some stuff that calls GitHub can’t be blocked, because that’s how it pulls package updates. On top of researching the individual way you could disable telemetry given what those systems allow, you could set up a local DNS resolver like Pi-hole and then block the things you don’t like. Sorry that I can’t give you a step-by-step process, but it’s going to take research and time on your part to make it as secure as you want given your requirements.
