# Bazzite Forgets User Password

The following issue was experienced on a desktop PC.  
Upon a reboot, after using the system for a few days, I was unable to log in into my account using SDDM. Bazzite would not accept my password.  
The only work around was to go into tty3 and manually log in with the root account to reset my user password. I was then able to log in to my account while in command line, but again, upon returning to the SDDM, I was unable to log in as it would say my password was incorrect. Rebooting did not fix or resolve the issue. Going back to a previous instance did not work either. Going to try running Bluefin for a few days and see if this issue reoccurs.

Maybe it wasn’t recognising your keyboard correctly, like using the UK layout on a US Keyboard

I just set up a new machnine and it just doesn’t accept the password entered in the installation.

Seeing how many bugs I ran into during partitioning, it’s completely reasonable to assume Bazzite is forgetting passwords.

I’ll just retry a bunch of times until I succeed, the installation procedure is a mess.

Not real sure what your doing during installation, but the process is extremely easy, reliable and repeatable, very much the standard for most distrobutions these days, are you using the live image or the proper installer image?

same problem…new computer of 3 that I have…all with same password…all of a sudden the password does not work…even worse it is Bazzite with no icons…did you get your issue fixed?
