I’m looking to rebase from bazzite-nvidia-open to bazzite-dx however it seems there’s no nvidia-open version of it. Am I missing something? Or is there a specific reason why it’s not available?

Yes that one is missing. I was also looking, what I did was to fork the github. Then I changed only the base image from the build file from the bazzite-nvidia to in my case the asus image: jobs: build_push: name: Build and push image runs-on: ubuntu-24.04 strategy: fail-fast: false matrix: base_image: - bazzite-asus-nvidia-open Then only you need to rebase to your own image rather than the one from bazzite-dx. I then changed some other things too, but it does work.

[image]Bazzite Fall Update: Fedora 43, Xbox Allies, Legion Go 2, Nvidia GTX In this release, we say goodbye to the ASUS and Surface images. Both classes of devices have first class support on our main images now, and removing these builds frees up important computing resources. Specifically for Asus, this means that you will lose access to the asusctl software you use to setup fan curves. But even without software, RGB brightness and power control are both functional on main images. We just need to add IDs missing for certain laptops if that’s not available. I was updating my image and was like, wait why am I not on 43? Then I read the release announcement and got a bit sad. I’m switching to the bazzite-nvidia-open as base image now.

thank you, though that’s probably a bit more tinkering than I’m prepared for. I mostly wanted to try out dx, so I guess I’ll just wait till maybe the open variant will sometime be officially supported.

DX is future-focused, so dx-nvidia is using the open driver. There is not and won’t be a version of dx with the legacy driver.

Bazzite-dx-nvidia-open missing?
