hello! just updated. had to uninstall cooler control just for it to work. now im trying to reinstall but it’s using a web ui. i very much liked the desktop app. is there a way to get that back?
You can install it by enabling Terra with:
ujust _enable_terra
And then install it with:
rpm-ostree install coolercontrol
Make sure to remove the container version first.
My laptop is giving me “Some system updates failed”. I still have to go back on using the previous version as this version is giving me the same issues.

Same answer I gave above
I input both of those options in Konsole and neither of them work.
First gives me error: justfile does not contain recipe `_enable_terra`
Second gives me error: Package/capability ‘coolercontrol’ is already requested
Am I doing something wrong here? I’m no IT or PC expert by any means, but is there anyway your team is planning on fixing this issue without me having to input anything in the Konsole menu or is this something that I have to do on my own?
In that case you can do:
rpm-ostree reset
And then reinstall cooler control after you update.
it worked! tysm!
I was a bit late to the post, but I am TealMango! I’ve been developing Bazzite Updater, and with Bazzite 45 it has entered release 1.0! Most of the app will look very familiar, but you may also notice:
- The controller glyphs have been changed to the ones used by Bazzite Portal, because they look better!
- The announcements feed once again displays in-order!
- There is now a page you can use to rebase between different tags and base Bazzite images!
- You can now add Bazzite Updater to steam from within Bazzite Updater itself, and this also could lead to similar small system utility commands being included on this page in the future!
With the Updater now in a state I would consider 1.0, a greater priority will be placed on refining what is currently present instead of adding major new features. For example, if you get a system update error due to not having enough free space, you will get a popup instead of needing to read through the console output. Furthermore, if there are other projects interested in including Bazzite Updater, I would like to make necessary changes so that it can be a great utility for the Linux ecosystem as a whole!
I installed Bazzite 45 on a brand new GMKtec M6 Ultra with an AMD 7640HS yesterday. I picked the HTPC AMD KDE build (bazzite-deck-stable-live-amd64.iso) and installed it.
After installing it and booting into Steam, when I try to switch to desktop, it seems to crash after showing me the Bazzite logo and kicks me right back to the Steam page showing me my recently played games again.
I’m likely going to have to reinstall as my password also isn’t working when I drop to TTY (and it seems SSH is not enabled by default either which isn’t ideal for my problem), but I just thought I would mention this crash here in case anyone else was experiencing it.
edit: Fixed all of my issues. I had to disable automatic resolution and manually set 1080p (even though it was automatically being set to 1080p since that’s what my testing monitor can handle), and then for my password my 60 key mini keyboard had the numbers and special characters not working so I had to fit the fn key twice. After that, I was able to use my password and enable SSH. All is working now.
That didn’t fix the issue at all.
I decided to update to the latest ver and try to figure out my issues I am having and found out that my screen tear issue was my monitor itself and I had to swap my Asus ROG monitor type-C cable into the first type-C port on my Asus ROG laptop, so that’s been resolved (But I cannot put it back into the second port for now until it gets hopefully patched up). ![]()
However, whenever I boot up Bazzite every time (latest ver) I get these two popup errors and have to click OK for them to go away:
1- “Game not recognized as DOSBox compatible”
2- “DOSBox argument error: unrecognized arguments: -d3d12”.
What do these errors mean?
I installed 45th right after 43rd (I skipped 44th version since it seems rather problematic for me)
I have hard time to find a way how can I control RGB from Decky now since HueSync doesn’t show any options now on my XBOX Asus Rog Ally X.
Who knows if there is a workaround, or if it is a bug? Tried downgrading this plugin but the issue remains
You would have to ask the DOSBox team, we don’t make it and it’s presumably a flatpak which means it’s not using system libraries.
This is something you’ve installed for it to be popping up like this
makes sence, but maybe there is an alternative in Bazzite itself? Without having to go back from Steam to Desktop mode, open OpenRGB and get back to steam again?
I’m back to this post with 3 feature requests:
- Would it be possible to include hid-fanatecff with Bazzite? I have a Fanatec wheel and one of the things I really miss on Linux compared to Windows is driver support for that wheel. Fanatec said in a thread on their forum, that they’ll look into developing an official Linux driver, but only after their new Fanatec App is stable on Windows (which won’t be happening this year and at the speed they’re currently developing the app, probably not even next year).
- This is most likely for xarishark or TealMango: Would it be possible to include an overview over currently layered packages in either the Bazzite Updater or the Bazzite Portal, with the option to uninstall them from within that application? I know it’s already possible to see the layered packages in the Updater, but it’d be nicer to have it as a seperate menu option and the ability to uninstall the packages, instead of just viewing them. It’d also be quite helpful to include an overview over all currently installed repos for layered packages and the option to delete these repos from within the application too. I think that would have saved me a lot of time, when Bazzite refused to update to version 45…
- This is most likely for TealMango: Would it be possible to create an overview over the updated packages after an update went through? Just which packages got updated from and to which version, as well as any errors that occured. It’s not that important, just to make the updater a bit more neat.
Also, as a last note: In the Updater, there’s an “Announcements” option. However, the announcements are in a seemingly random order. An announcement from 9 months ago is the second one being shown, while for example the announcement, that the ASUS ROG Ally X20 now has support on the Testing Branch from 14 days ago is only the 4th thing shown in the menu. I think they should be in chronological order…
