i’d roll back first tbh to see if that fixes it
I found a reference on the Bazzite github page for when they removed the toggle command to disable auto updates:
sudo systemctl disable uupd.timer
it looks like the only difference is the —now flag. I went with the version I found and it appears to have worked. We’ll see if I can re-enable it later with an “enable” option instead of “disable.”
Broke my system. Boots into maintenance mode but won’t let me login or Ctrl-d. Had to rollback to 43. Using Nvidia with no layered packages if that matters.
A hotfix is going out now for the Nvidia LTS images, should resolve the software rendering issue some of you are facing. Thanks for your patience.
thank you brother
hello
i got 1 layered package in the system. i add rpm file , the program is opensnitch
i had this before update . i checked ostree status, it says idle, and opensnitch has a new version now on system by today.
so everything works fine with system and system got updated properly , and i dont have to reinstall layered package also?
thanks for your help
Same here. But good news! I was able to get it to run with this script.
What is the background of this decision?
I installed Bazzite 44 on another laptop and yes, it is the same with Bluetooth. On one laptops everything works, and on the second I have no idea what is happening, as if A2DP Sink is missing or some service responsible for it is disabled.
no A2DP Sink
devices visible only as Audio Gateway / A2DP Source / HSP HFP AG
no High Fidelity Playback option
headphones work like a phone from 2005
speakers are not detected as speakers sometimes only as a microphone if speaker have one lol
Same issue !
Try pressing F1 quickly after startup to choose a different ostree in GRUB. In my case it does not matter which of the two I choose, because after a restart it always goes back to the previous broken one. After selecting the working ostree again, enter this in the terminal rpm ostree cleanup p
Fan sensor is gone in Bazzite desktop version, so they can not be controlled or monitored in coolercontrol. Only GPU fan is shown. Is it coming back? Maybe it is not yet compatible with 44 version?
curious about MakeMKV - at first glance this doesnt seem like software I’d install
- Shareware labelled as “BETA”
- Code doesnt seem available online
- Made by “GuinpinSoft Inc” (?)
- Installing means acceptance of EULA
- Bypass of copy protection (legality?)
…we sure its good?
It’s used to allow for Blu-ray playback on HTPCS, it does not run in the background and the next release will remove the unneeded shortcut to it.
I wanted to report that I have had an issue with update 44 on 2 separate machines, they have had a blank screen (I can CTRL + ALT + DELETE so I think they’re just not loading graphics) and I had to rebase back to the last 43 release. Version 43 works immediately and fine.
PCs: Gigabyte Laptop (2026), Older built PC with an Nvidia RTX 2070
Version: bazzite-nvidia-open
Additional Info: On the laptop it kept having the same issue until KDE loaded with the “software renderer” due to failed driver and the PC I just used CTRL + SHIFT + F2 and rebased from there.
Both have same symptoms.
Edit: forgot to incude some additional info.
Working great for me, thanks as always!

I changed to Bazzite-DX because I use QEMU and I’m thinking to use ROCM in the future. I want to ask why Bazzite-DX is not based in Kernel 6.19.X and what is the alternative, or if it will be updated soon to Kernel 6.19.X
Thanks
The DX image is based on the Deck image, which allows it to get GameMode and the extra drivers for handheld to help with game development on those kind of devices. This means that the DX image will be on the same version as the Deck images, which is 43.
You can either use the non-DX Bazzite image and either layer QEMU or install in a Distrobox, or you can stay on the DX image based on Fedora 43 until the handheld tweaks get finalized and the Deck images get bumped to 44.
Since I didn’t try this with the first Bazzite 44 release, I’m not positive it’s generically a 44 issue instead of a problem with the latest release. But, the Calibre flatpak (v 9.7.0) no longer runs on Bazzite 44.20260501.1. When I click on the icon to run it, I get a little bouncing icon of the Calibre icon that moves with the mouse, then nothing. If I revert back to Bazzite 43.20260420 and Calibre runs normally again. Very weird.
EDIT: SOLVED! Based on some input I got on the Calibre forums, I started messing with the Flatseal changes I’d made to get Calibre running on earlier Bazzite versions. I should have realized it was my old friend Wayland. I turned the Wayland Windowing System back on and got rid of the xcb environment variable that I had to have before. The Calibre flatpack started working again. Sorry about that.
Same. CoolerControl has this in its log:

🧰 Hardware Support | CoolerControl - this lists nct6687 as an example of an out-of-tree hwmon kernel driver commonly required by new mobos (I have ASRock B850I Lightning WiFi). But it worked before? Did Bazzite include this driver previously and now doesn’t?
Running bazzite on the Framework 13
I noticed my expansion cards in slots 2 and 3, a 1TB storage expansion card and USB A expansion card respectively, were both not working after the update to 44. I tested them in slots 1 and 4 (the high voltage ones) and the cards are both still working. Additionally the storage card is recognized as a drive but will fail to mount in slots 2 and 3. According to the sensors the expansion cards in slots 2 and 3 do still receive 5 volts from the main board when they are plugged in. Even though the sensors are working, the system info application will crash if I try looking at the USB Devices tab, I have to check the sensors through the system monitor app instead.
When I rollback to Bazzite 43 the issues go away and all 4 expansion card slots work normally.
