I’m sorry, but I can’t find Bazaar in the newly released gts version. (gts-20250629)

Actually when I select “Software Center” on the top left icon (u), **nothing happens!!**
Also, I cannot find the previous “Software Center”..
Maybe I need to do something?
Is there a command line to execute for Bazaar in order to see some logs?

I’ve just realized that Bazaar is only for f42 versions. 😑
So, now I have to reboot with the previous gts version I suppose?

There was a few hour period where gnome-software was removed from GTS, it’s back now do an update. Updating the logomenu back as well, that’ll come as soon as we fix it.

This one is my fault for not noticing that bazaar’s builds for F41 weren’t working. I wanted to kill this thing so badly lol.

I thought Software Center was a Gnome name, thought maybe you guys want to use something different. But I now learned Gnome uses the term “Software”.
I think “Software Center” is better, it’s more descriptive. Personally I find the term software a little outdated since everyone talks Apps these days (App Center) but there really is nothing wrong with Software Center.

Although, Center is American, Centre is English 😝

I like “App Bazaar”.

It seems like the preinstalled flatpaks do not have icons?

Personally, I would be alright with the usage of the word store. It implies paying for software which seems to be part of bazaar’s mission. After all _bazaar_ itself already means marketplace! In fact that might even be a fun way of naming it!

Why not _Software Bazaar_ or perhaps _App Bazaar_?

Please add more stuff like that. It adds so much character to the store \<3

App Store is just fine. Users want something simple to get their apps. It would even be a good idea to show a Steam-like overlay on the first boot, with arrows pointing to the preconfigured pinned icons, telling the user: here is the App Store, here are the settings, here is the file manager. Many members of my family have had Android for years and still don’t know that the app store on their phones is called the Play Store. I do not think it’s their fault either. “App Store” is perfect!

That’s up to Kolunmi. If it ends up becoming the last app store for the majority of OSes, any other name doesn’t matter. When you install a Linux distro, you get your apps from the App Store. For now Bazaar is a great name for the flathub

That’s look awesome on bluefin,
two little suggestions:

> 1. Start to search without click the lens button
> 2. An undo button right after you click install

This two feature comes from the gnome-software experience but i think they will improve the usability of bazaar.

Last but no less important, I agree to call it “appstore” or whatever on ublue distros and simply bazaar on flathub for others

Thanks for your amazing work!
(ps. I’m looking forward for a qt-frontend 😃 )

</div>

**1. Flathub**
I don’t understand what is purpose of “Flathub”? If I click on particular flatpak nothing happens. Is this something new that is not finished yet or I don’t understand how does it work?

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/d/d10ab9788e5b0775ed3ebf4f7d31032d706b2d74.png)

* * *

**2. Search button**
Room of improvement is “Search” button. It looks like this before clicking on search button:

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/e/e0486c4e01ff3b344aee6fe4192991505c3f63b7.jpeg)

But looks like this when search button is clicked:

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/b/becadb30d7c7fc731495714f85cba4230d10fabf.jpeg)

Why did middle buttons disappeared? It looks like something is broken when search button is clicked. What about this design, to have “Search” as button:

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/3/3182478279540a8355664b5e086dbc5808bd96e7.jpeg)

or at least this one (search button enabled and middle buttons still displayed).

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/c/c2794e1e67b993f55014650329d5a765952a083d.jpeg)

* * *

**3. Installed apps**
Installed app list is displayed like this:

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/4/4ab70ca7d302cb967b5875ee4f6958e6353a600d.png)

There are plenty of apps in Installed list, some that are installed by default, some I have maybe installed, but forgot what is it for. Clicking on installed app icon and nothing happens. It would be nice to have some bubble inflated and more info displayed about what this app is that is installed. Now I click on Search button at top left and search for it to see what is it for.

When mouse is moved and waited on icons “three” dots tip is displayed, but no tip for first two icons. I expect to get “Play” and “Delete” tips.

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/1/1fd2cd4d9448f85d2a2494794ea7560cfa3b9095.png)

* * *

**4. Transaction**
When app is installed in title there is still “Updating” indicating installation is in progress. Also at bottom there is Pause button when clicked it changes to Play button, but I don’t think this buttons should work. If app is installed then pause button should be greyed out or probably better to disappear, the same with Stop button. No need to be displayed if it has no function.

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/7/70dae5a16418607b078cc4f143405b3acd4eee93.png)
I am also not a big fan of having three dots at text like at “org.gnome.Pa…” or “Finished in 6,69 seco…” The later would probably be better to be displayed in two rows, specially when translations appears and text may get larger.

* * *

**5. Number of downloads**
When graph is displayed, clicking anywhere should just close down the graph, no need to get to the top-right to close down. Also two options on button I don’t really see big reason to have it, it would be better without them, simplicity.

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/0/030eb1c158228aecd39b2dee3ad7cd0b015f0a18.jpeg)

I also think it would be better graph to be displayed at top-right at the place of first picture (and first picture moved down to second place), something like this.

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/0/0fe88759e9919106b656b87eb7f33ddd4973c255.jpeg)

* * *

**6. Similar apps**
What I would like to see when I click on one app and details are displayed, to display similar apps like alternatives. For example if I click on Firefox, I would like to get other browser as suggestion to install as alternative. Something like (see bottom):

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/2X/b/b4bcfd61dc3545f9696c1ac86c60d6a5ed05b8f5.png)

</div>

Today I run updates (on default KDE edition of Bazzite 42) and Bazaar got automatically installed while Discover got automatically removed. Now I wonder: how do I browse apps by category? On the curated page there are like top 20 apps for just a few categories and no buttons like “More” to continue browsing the category. In search there also doesn’t seem to be any category functionality.

I agree. Many new users have never heard of Flathub. May I suggest to simply call it “All Apps”? Or “Browse Apps”.

> [@red11](#):
>
> 1. Search button

I made a similar comment about this button. My suggestion now is a little different:
Notice how all other stuff in this bar has a textual name. One of the most amazing features of Bazaar is it’s search functionality.
I kindly beg you to add the word “Search” here, for consistency design-wise AND visibility. Its a little hidden away especially with the word for this particular button missing.

> [@red11](#):
>
> 1. Installed apps

Addition: there is only 1 single action behind those 3 dots. I don’t understand why a menu is created for a single item ?

> [@red11](#):
>
> **Transaction**

Addition: A comment was made by a few others that “Transaction” may sound cool to us, but may confuse the new non-Linux users that Bluefin/Aurora/Bazzite are trying to attract.
The word is misleading, because the user has not made a transaction. Save that word for future payments/donations.
To keep it simple I would just call it what it is “installing”.
Also indeed breaking important text off instead of having 2 rows of text is a little bit sloppy. But hey it’s already nothing but a miracle that Bazaar has matured in just weeks! 🦾

I really like the similar apps suggestion but I can imagine that data simply isn’t available.
